Hi Folks,

The next time you visit Lifford AFC Grounds you will notice a new road with tarmac. This was put in place to make it easier to access our pitches for all supporters, parents and players and one young girl in particular.

Thirteen year old Isabella Mulvey-Sydney was born with a rare congenital disorder called Lumbar Sacral Agenesis, which resulted in both her legs being amputated at the age of seven. She is a tenacious, bright and brave young teenager.

Mum Clare Mulvey-Sydney was born and raised in Ennis and is Isabella’s full-time carer as well as being a recent breast cancer survivor. Just last year she won the deserved title of Netwatch Clare & Munster Family Carer of the Year for 2021.

As Isobella comes to watch her brother AJ play and dad Darum coach, her mum Claire had played for Lifford when she was a teenager ,also we have been trying to get a suitable path put in up to the pitches , as it stands we only had steps and Isobella has to be carried up and her wheelchair also this was not ideal.

A big thank you goes out to the following people who with their help, advice & kind donations and the will to get this very important access road complete. So thank you again from all at Lifford AFC to Mayor Clare Colleran Molly, Ennis Municipal Councillors Mary Howard, Pat Daly & Johnny Flynn, TD Joe Carey, EI Electronic, and the Lifford AFC Committee.

Merry Christmas to everyone.
